Empowering Women through MHM: Sunita's Story of Change

At NAF, we believe that empowering women with knowledge and access to resources is essential for their overall well-being. One of the areas where we have seen a significant impact is in menstrual hygiene management (MHM).

We recently worked with a young woman named Sunita, who lives in a rural village in Bihar. Sunita had always felt embarrassed about her period and never talked about it with anyone. She didn't know much about MHM and would often use unhygienic cloth during her periods.

Through our MHM awareness campaign, Sunita learned about the importance of using clean and hygienic menstrual products, proper disposal methods, and the benefits of good menstrual hygiene. She also learned about the common myths and taboos associated with periods, which helped her understand that menstruation is a natural process and nothing to be ashamed of.

With the support of our team, Sunita started using sanitary pads and practiced good menstrual hygiene. She also shared her newfound knowledge with her friends and family, encouraging them to adopt healthier practices. Sunita now feels confident and empowered, and no longer feels ashamed or embarrassed about her period.

This is just one of the many stories of change that we have witnessed through our MHM awareness campaigns. We believe that by breaking down taboos and providing education and resources, we can empower women to take charge of their health and well-being.
